Welcome to the new series on Naija To LA! Artist of the month , will provide some background on a particular artist or group i have had on heavy replay for the previous month . My first artist of the month post goes to The Boy Wonder ; Ayo Jay !!
Ayo Jay has been on my radar for a little while now . I first heard Ayo Jay on , Cap B’s ‘She likes it ‘ , i was singing the chorus all summer !! After further research i came across a few of his freestyles and his remix to Wizkids’ Sisi NeNe , it was only a matter of time before i became a solid fan ! Ayo is definitely talented and is a breath of fresh air to the Nigerian r&b scene ! I particularly admire how all his songs appear to be telling a story. He firstly introduced himself with ‘Jay Baba‘, then he asked can i have ‘Your Number‘ and now he wants to know if you are “Available‘. The guy makes yoruba sound sweet oooo ! I wouldn’t mind being toasted by Ayo at all 😉
Ayo Jay recently relocated to Nigeria to pursue his music career and is signed to One Nation records . Ayo studied Economics is university , young , handsome, educate and can sing !! He is the total package for sure! He has released videos for his singles ‘Your number‘ and ‘Available‘ . Both videos have received positive reviews and the visuals have complimented the singles very well.
I am eager to hear more from the young star and patiently waiting for him to receive the popularity and recognition he rightly deserves. With the right marketing and media training Ayo Jay could easily be the next Wizkid or Davido !!
